The Anglo Jordanian Society

On the initiative of HRH Prince Hassan bin Talal, the Anglo Jordanian
Society was formed over twenty five years ago by a small group of people who
had worked in, knew and loved Jordan and its people.

Today, the Society is a UK registered Charity which continues to encourage
friendship and understanding between the peoples of the United Kingdom and
Jordan. It has over 600 members some of whom served with the original Arab
Legion.

The Society arranges several functions a year enabling like-minded people
from social, business, academic, and diplomatic backgrounds to meet.

Recent activities have included, The Commandant¹s Parade at Sandhurst,
Guided Tours to Jordan, a Musical Tour of Westminster Abbey, Guided Tours
and Tea at both the Houses of Lords and Commons, annual BBQ¹s & Christmas
get-togethers, a biennial Arabic evening with belly-dancing alternating with
a biennial black-tie Reception and Dinner in the presence of the Society¹s
Royal Patrons.

The Society has recently launched a Youth Group to cater more towards the
younger members of the Society and regularly helps to promote other
Anglo-Jordanian activities.

Funds raised through the Society¹s activities are regularly donated to
Charities in Jordan primarily dedicated to the care of disadvantaged
children. The Society has contributed more than £100,000 over the last 10
years.

It is one of the most active Anglo-Arab Societies in the UK and truly a
Society for all those with an interest in matters Anglo-Jordanian.
